Resources for Institutional Subscribers

Institutional subscribers are libraries, companies, or other institutions that subscribe to the SSA journals: Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America (BSSA) or Seismological Research Letters (SRL). The BSSA is available to our institutional subscribers by IP address. SRL is not yet available online to subscribers.

BSSA Online Activation Instructions

If you are a current BSSA institutional subscriber (paid through the current calendar year), then you also have access to the online BSSA journal. The account is available, but each subscriber must activate their own online subscription.

Instructions are as follows:

  1. Enter http://www.bssaonline.org to get to the BSSA Online home page.
  2. Click on the SUBSCRIPTIONS link in the left-hand navigation menu.
  3. Click on “ACTIVATE your institutional subscription”.
  4. Enter your customer number. This is a 5-digit number starting with 1 or 2 assigned by SSA. It appears on your BSSA mailing label. If you don’t have the label and need to know the customer number, contact subscriptions@seismosoc.org.
  5. Follow the additional instructions provided on the activation site. You will need to complete the online form, select an Administrator Username and password, and register the IP addresses for your facility. IP addresses may be added or updated at anytime after your subscription has been activated.

If you have problems within the BSSAonline.org site, please click on “Help” from the orange menu bars at the top and bottom. Then find the place (just above the list of browsers) that links you to the feedback form. Fill out the form describing what you are trying to do and what has occurred including any error messages. Submit the form and someone will get back to you to help you resolve your problem.
