Special Session Convener Responsibilities |

Pre-Event1. EMAIL FOR EACH ABSTRACT: As a session convener, you will get an email each time an abstract is submitted to your special session. The email will contain the author, title, presentation preference and the entire text of the abstract. 2. TEXT FORMAT: The abstract text may contain HTML formatting codes inside angle brackets (such as <b> for bold </B>). Some characters may have odd characters around them. These allow the text to be formatted correctly when a PDF is created. You will be able to click on a link in the email message to see the text without the markup characters. 3. WEB LINK: The abstract submission form is at http://www.seismosoc.org/meetings/2008/absub/ (available in December 2007). Submission instructions as well as all the details about the text format can be found on those pages. 4. SUBMISSION CHANGES: If someone withdraws their submission, changes the special session, their payment doesn’t clear or they want to add an author, etc., you will not automatically be notified of the changes (though I will try to remember to send you an email.) However, when we hit the submission deadline, I will send Charlotte Rowe a final list (with text) of the abstract submissions. 5.
