Appendix S1. Stable Noise Models for the North Island National Broad Band Seismographic Sites

The noise PDFs for the vertical channels of the North Island National stations are displayed in Figure S1, Figure S2, Figure S3, and Figure S4. Each plot includes the minimum, maximum, mode, 10th and 90th percentiles of the obtained PDFs. Colorbar shows the corresponding probability of the power values for each period.

Appendix S2. Daily Variations of the Mode Noise Model

The daily variations of the obtained vertical mode noise models for the North Island National stations are displayed in Figure S5, Figure S6, Figure S7, and Figure S8. Each 3D plot shows the changes of the power values of the mode noise model (color bar) over the periods from 0.1 to 100s (y axis) and the day hour numbers (1 to 24) which covers 00:00 GMT to 23:00 GMT (x axis).

Appendix S3. Seasonal Variations of the Mode Noise Model

Changes of the vertical mode noise models during the months of the year for the stations of interest are displayed in Figure S9, Figure S10, Figure S11, and Figure S12. Each plot shows the changes of the power values of the mode noise model (color bar) over the periods from 0.1 to 100s (y axis) and the months of the year (x axis).
