The first two letters of each borehole code represent the location of the borehole: cp, cw, cy, dc, dx, fs, ft, hb, hd, hr, pg, sjs, sy, tz, xc and xw are short for Chang Ping, Chong Wen, Chao Yang, Dong Cheng, Fang Shan, Hai Dian, Huai Rou, Ping Gu, Shi Jing Shan, Shun Yi, Tong Zhou, Xi Cheng and Xuan Wu, respectively, which are districts in Beijing. hb is short for He Bei, which is a province in China. zp is the profile depth; VS(zp) is the observed shear-wave velocity at the maximum depth zp; VS(20) and VS(30) the shear-wave velocity at depth 20 and 30 m, respectively; and VS30 is the time-averaged shear-wave velocity in the upper 30 m. Site classes E, D1, D2, D3, and C1 are characterized by VS30 < 180 m/s, 180 m/s < VS30 < 240 m/s, 240 m/s < VS30 < 300 m/s, 300 m/s < VS30 < 360 m/s, and 360 m/s < VS30 < 490 m/s, respectively. The coordinates of the boreholes are not publicly available but can be obtained by contacting the author personally.
