This electronic supplement consists of two separate tarballs. The first contains the subduction interface sampled at 0.01 degree resolution. The data is contained in a Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) .grd file. This is gridded data in a binary format that can be easily accessed by a number of methods. More information about GMT .grd files may be found at <http:/gmt.soest.hawaii.edu>. The tarball also contains a simple shell script to plot the contours using GMT.
The second tarball consists of a Python script and associated files that allow the evaluation of the subduction interface and the corresponding surface normals at any desired set of points.
Most people will want to download the GMT tarball, as it also contains the boundaries defining the valid region of the model in WGS84 geographic coordinates. People who are familiar with Python, or those who wish to evaluate the surface normals of the interface will also want to download the python-script tarball. Both tarballs contain a README file with additional information.
