This electronic supplement contains a table about soil and topographic categories assessed for the 211 strong-motion stations published on Italian National Institute for Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) Strong Motion Database (ISMD).
Table S1. Soil and topographic categories assessed for the 213 strong-motion stations published on ISMD. The symbol * in column seven (ISMD soil class) indicates the classes determined by the available geological information (Di Capua, Lanzo, et al., 2011; Di Capua, Peppoloni, et al., 2011). The symbol ** indicates the modifications with respect to Di Capua, Lanzo, et al. (2011) and Di Capua, Peppoloni, et al. (2011), based on an expert judgment (e.g. near measurements of VS profiles or direct knowledge of the recording site). The topography classes in column eight were assigned based on the method proposed by Pessina and Fiorini (2014). The symbol * indicates the stations not classified (i.e., NC output) by the considered method, whereas the symbol ** indicates further modifications, performed after a visual inspection on Google Earth.
