2009 Annual Meeting

SSA’s 2009 Annual Meeting will provide a stimulating exchange of research on a wide range of topics with like-minded professionals from all over the world. Oral presentations, poster sessions, exhibits, field trips, business meetings and social gatherings all provide members the opportunity to meet and share with their peers.

Program

Marcia McLaren is this year's program chair.  Information on 24 special sessions is now available.  Abstract submissions are now being accepted. If you would like to submit an abstract please click here to view the instructions and then proceed to the online abstract submission form. 

One focus of the meeting will be the 20th anniversary of the M 6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake (17 October 1989).  Much has been learned about science, engineering and public policy of earthquakes since then.  There has also been a tremendous development of observation networks and tools to study and respond to earthquakes that are now in use all over the world. 

Field Trips

Two field trips will be offered on Saturday, April 11, following the conference.
