Associate Telecommunications Engineer

Under the general supervision of the Senior Telecommunications Engineer of the Earthquake Engineering Program, the Associate Telecommunication Engineer is responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of the operation of statewide telecommunications systems for the California Strong Motion Instrumentation Program’s (CSMIP) seismic stations, including telecommunication engineering surveys and studies by providing technical assistance and advice to the CSMIP Field Operations manager on telecommunication methods and systems such as telephone, data, mobile, microwave radio and satellite systems.

If you are a current state employee, but do not have transfer eligibility or list eligibility, you will need to have taken and passed the examination for this classification in order to be hired for this position. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
