JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Systems/ Geophysical Analyst shall provide support by conducting research into the use of infrasound and seismic data for treaty monitoring purposes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Assess regional data evaluation procedures and software

·         Modeling signal propagation through realistic atmospheres

·         Investigation of signal-source scaling for a variety of source conditions

·         Evaluation of techniques for wind noise suppression with existing and experimental sensor technologies

·         General infrasound/hydroacoustic research

·         Recommend actions to correct deficiencies, increase efficiency, and improve capabilities

·         Prepare executive level briefings

·         Perform documentation reviews

·         Prepare technical reports on integration and installation support issues and recommendation corrective actions to senior government executive

·         Attend meeting at the direction of the government, reporting findings, progress, and recommending corrective actions

 

EDUCATION:

·         Bachelor’s degree or an Air Force Scientific Applications Specialist Associate degree or equivalent and documented experience specific to the defined responsibilities.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·         Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience performing tasks like those above

·         Experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate with executives

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

·         AFTAC geophysical analyst experience

·         Experience with site response analysis and understanding of propagation path effects

·         Experience with SeaTools, SAC, or other geophysical signal processing software

·         Experience with geophysical system calibration for operations and maintenance

·         Experience with routine noise analysis, signal analysis, including frequency analysis of both

·         Basic coding/scripting skills

·         Experience working within a government Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)

·         Experience deriving and marking classified documents according to the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and local security classification guides

 

OTHER:

·         US Citizenship required

·         Must possess a fully adjudicated (not an interim) Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
